Around Iceland is thrilled to announce its partnership with Mobility.is, a company with a heartwarming tale that goes beyond business.
In 2018, a family-owned venture emerged from a personal journey. Sunna, born in 2006 with an ultra-rare neurological disorder, sparked the inception of Mobility.is. Faced with the challenge of unavailable mobility products in Iceland, Sunna’s parents began importing specialized devices for her, such as a unique wheelchair bicycle.
Sunna’s need for specialized devices stems from her parents’ profound belief in the importance of being outdoors and experiencing nature, especially considering its positive impact on her condition.
As word spread about these tailored solutions, interest burgeoned not just within Sunna’s family but across different families in Iceland facing similar challenges. The demand for these products grew organically, leading Mobility.is to evolve into a business that now imports and sells products from over 30 producers worldwide. Mobility.is also extends its reach by renting wheelchairs and other devices to those in temporary need, creating a community of support for families seeking accessible solutions.
Together, we believe in making the wonders of Iceland and the world accessible to all, ensuring that unforgettable adventures are not limited to a select few but are open to everyone eager to experience the beauty of our planet. Join us on this inclusive journey with Around Iceland and Mobility.is.
