In a serendipitous encounter on Facebook, a member of Platonick Dive and Around Iceland found common ground in their shared passion for the ethereal beauty of Iceland’s landscapes. This chance meeting sparked a collaboration that seamlessly weaved together the mesmerizing visuals of Iceland with the soulful and energetic melodies of Platonick Dive’s latest single, “Carpet Ceiling.”
Hailing from Italy, Platonick Dive is not your conventional band. They describe their music as “Silence against Noise,” a blend of ambient digressions, geometric constructions, and feedback explosions infused with deep synths and dreaming guitars. Their music serves as therapy, an essential part of life and evolution.
Gabriele Centelli, a member of Platonick Dive, revealed that he was so captivated by the otherworldly atmosphere of the Icelandic scenery, he captured it through video footages, which later became the backdrop for “Carpet Ceiling.” The music had already been composed, but Gabriele recognised the Icelandic nature as the perfect visual accompaniment for its official music video.
Around Iceland, equally captivated by the fusion of music and nature, eagerly checked the single´s music video. Upon listening, we were immersed in a genre that exuded soulful and positive energy, perfectly complemented by the Icelandic landscape.
Platonick Dive’s journey extends beyond creating music. They’ve embarked on European tours and shared the stage with renowned artists like Explosions In The Sky, Jon Hopkins, and These New Puritans. Additionally, they’ve ventured into composing soundtracks for films and advertising, exploring new avenues for their artistic expression.
Platonick Dive not only transported listeners to the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland but also underscored the profound connection between music and nature. As they continue to evolve creatively, their music remains a testament to the transformative power of art and its ability to transcend boundaries, both geographical and musical.
